Introduction...

We are your local service in Edinburgh for Gastric Band, Gastric Bypass and Gastric Balloon as well as Sleeve Gastrectomy and Duodenal Switch.  We also provide obligation-free advice about weight management  in general, and whether or not surgery might be appropriate.

At Weight LossSurgery Scotland we know how hard it can be: apart from the various medical problems that can develop as a result of being seriously overweight (such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, arthritis, asthma, depression and a host of others) there are also physical, social and practical problems that arise too, like getting breathless; uncomfortable in the hot weather; trouble getting clothes to fit; difficulty playing with your children; people whispering behind your back.  Virtually all of these problems can be reversed with weight loss, but losing the weight - and keeping it off - can be extremely difficult.

Taking a healthy, low-calorie diet and getting some regular physical activity each day is the way to start.  Most people can begin to lose weight this way.  Some people also benefit from certain weight-losing medications such as orlistat, sibutramine or exenatide which must be prescribed by a doctor.

However, for people who are very significantly overweight, or for those who have tried the above measures unsuccessfully, surgery may be the best choice.  There are a number of different procedures available which can be tailored to suit your needs and we are happy to discuss all of these.

Weight Loss Surgery Scotland  are located in Edinburgh. We are happy
to meet with you to discuss your suitability for surgery and can
advise on the best procedure.  We can perform the surgery,
provide all the post-operative care and support that you need,
and also provide long-term follow-up to ensure that the
good early results of your operation continue into the future.
